COVID-19, Consumers, and the Wine Market in Canada – Six Months Into the Pandemic

Market research firm Abacus Data returns to share more data to explore Canadian attitudes and perceptions about the COVID-19 emergency and what impact it’s having on consumer behaviour. The webinar will cover current attitudes around the pandemic, preferences on travel and hospitality, and the potential impact of a 2nd lockdown. Abacus Data will also focus specifically on wine lovers – and their perceptions about Canadian wine including access and availability. The webinar will take place on November 5th at 3pm ET. WGC teamed up with pollster, market researcher and wine enthusiast David Coletto, who shared insights from his firm Abacus Research on Canadian attitudes and perceptions about the COVID-19 emergency and what impact it’s having on consumer behavior, with special insights about beverage alcohol and Canadian wine consumption. Regional Resources: 

The BC Wine Institute has developed a Ready to Reopen Toolkit to provide wineries with reopening best practices, key messages, templates, checklists, social media guidelines and other key resources to help ensure a smooth and safe reopening of your winery.

The Winery Association of Nova Scotia (WANS) has published protocols in response to COVID-19. The document summarizes best practices for your winery, including a variety of areas from retail operations to winery experiences, which comply with government regulations.
